EASTER SEALS CAMP YELLOW RIBBON HAS 36 MORE SLOTS AVAILABLE!
Camp Yellow Ribbon will begin in August of 2010, as a week-long camp opportunity to bring children of military families together. Easter Seals staff continues to finalize the planning steps, but it is sure to be quite an experience for those who attend. The camp experience will provide so many opportunities for campers not only to enjoy themselves, but also to make friends and to share time with others who may have similar experiences.
This camp is absolutely FREE to military children, with hopes of further supporting military families!
Dates: August 16th – 20th 2010
Open to children: ages 7-13
Location:
37612 Indian Mound Rd.
Oconomowoc, WI 53066
(Partnering with the Milwaukee County Council Boys Scouts of America)
Sample Activities:
* Small group activities to increase relationship building
* Campfire Cooking- items such as hot dogs, s’mores, pudgie pies over a fire
* Nightly bonfires sing alongs, s’mores and fun!
* Swimming, canoeing and fishing on Silver Lake
* Participating in the C.O.P.E. (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) program (promotes team building, self confidence, communication, leadership skills)
* Arts and craft projects
* Learning about nature and exploring the bird refuge on site
* Sporting activities
* Field trip (TBD)
