Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Event

A Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Event will be held Aug. 28 at the Fairgrounds in Superior, WI.  The event is free and open to the public from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  All community members are encouraged to participate in the event honoring the veterans’ service.

There will be a ceremony  noon to 1:30 p.m. with a tribute to Vietnam Veterans.    A motorcycle run begins at 3 p.m.  The event also features an art fair, classic car show, photo exchange,  and POW Balloon.  In addition, many local service organizations and community providers will host information booths.

The sponsors include the U.S. Veteran’s Health Administration, Disabled American Veterans, VA Vet Center,  State of Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, Lions Club International, Project New Hope,  Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs and Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce. The fairgrounds is located at 4700 Tower Ave. in Superior.
