From your Wisconsin Family Assistance Center Specialists(FACS):

Financial situations can show up even in the best of times. With the whole nation experiencing economic ups and downs (though it appears there are more downs than ups), no one is alone in trying to better manage personal finances to weather this economic storm.

Your FAC team has resources on hand to help you tame that beast. Often, a good look at your spending habits and budget (spending plan), coupled with a renewed sense of determination to get things in hand are all it takes. Couple that determination with some good reference material and resources and you are well on your way to your financial goals.

FAC offices have printed material as well as a lending library that includes all manner of financial topics. If a little more help is needed, call a FAC Specialist for some resources and/or referrals to organizations that can help you get that budget manageable again. These referrals can include our partner service organizations such as the American Legion and VFW, organizations specifically for military families such as Military One Source and Operation Homefront, as well nonprofit organizations and resources within your community.

When a deployment is thrown into the mix, things can get a bit frustrating. Emergency resources are available for military families. Calling a member of the FAC team is the way to start the application process. A FAC Specialist will listen to your needs and help determine which resources may be appropriate for your situation. FAC Specialists DO NOT make any determination on the outcome of these applications for emergency financial assistance. That is strictly handled within the individual organization to determine if you meet their eligibility.

Take responsibility for getting a handle on your financial situation and be sure you and your family are always “Mission Ready”.

Call a FAC Specialist today and see what we have for you!
