That means that you are required to stay in the hotel room with your child in the evening. You do not have to attend the entire Teen Summit, however, we are offering a short breakout on Saturday morning for parents. Other than that you are free to enjoy your weekend in Madison.

What does "with an accompanying parent" mean? Is a parent required to attend in order for my teen to attend? Are there any activites planned for the parents? Thanks

Thank you for your post.
I agree with you that your military service is a strong hiring point that employers don’t realize and we as Service Members don’t typically use to our advantage. As you start your transition into the civilian sector I have a few suggestions. 1) Ensure your resume is “Top Notch”. One of the main reasons our men and women don’t get employment right away is because employers can’t understand or translate our military training and experience into civilian equivalence. If you contact the WERC office we have a great connection with an organization that will customize your resume and be able to take your military experience/ training and highlight it in your resume. 2) Work on your interview skills, interviewing for a job is not the same as going in front of a promotion board. You need to be able to verbalize what you have done and why you are qualified for the position. A great resource for this is your local Job Center. In the WERC office we have some self-study material that we can send you. In the near future we will have an HR specialist in the WERC office that will be able to do mock interviews. 3) Get your “Good” resume posted on the Hero’s 2 Hired website (H2H.jobs). H2H is a DOD Yellow Ribbon run website. You as a Service Member can post your resume, search for jobs and it has numerous employment resources. As you are searching for jobs employers can search and look at resumes that are posted.
I hope this helps and please don’t hesitate to contact us in the WERC office for any additional assistance or resources. -CPT Ledger

To whom it may concern, I am currently in the military, and working full-time as a technician. I am looking at getting medically discharged, and need to find another job. With job markets so tough these days, and my military career my strongest point, where is the best place to look for new employment? Thanks

I was wondering if there are any programs where people "adopt" a family for christmas. Things are rough and i was hoping to find something to help make this season brighter for my two children who's father is in afghanistan.
